Athlete Participation Programme – 2008 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World
Championship
Thank you for your application to the Athlete Participation Programme
for the 2008 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship.
Due to the high number of applications for funding for the Volvo Youth
Sailing ISAF World Championship, ISAF has applied strict criteria over the
allocation of funding and was unable to fund all of the sailors who applied.
ISAF’s first priority was to those countries who had not previously
participated at an ISAF Volvo Youth Sailing World Championship, followed by
those countries who had not received funding from the Athlete Participation
Programme in the past or who had not frequently participated at the
Championship. Further consideration was
also given to younger sailors who will be able to compete at future ISAF Youth
Sailing World Championships.
ISAF is delighted to confirm the following funding will be available to
the sailor listed below:

Other Information
Due to the large number of applicants to the Athlete Participation
Programme 2008, ISAF has only been able to accept a limited number of sailors
on the programme. Therefore ISAF would
like commitment from the Federacion Colombiana de Vela that if for any reason this
funding will not be used by your sailor that you advise ISAF immediately. The funds will then be re-allocated.
ISAF will be writing to your National Olympic Committee to inform them
of this funding and increase their awareness of the Athlete Participation
Programme and ISAF’s support to sailing in Colombia. ISAF will of course copy you on this letter to the NOC.
